Yes, it was fifteen years ago . . .

. . . that the "divine" Stanley Kubrick passed away (March 7, 1999).  To mark the anniversary, we're posting the superb tribute above, by Alexandre Gasulla, which is a brilliant introduction to the master's themes and obsessions, as well as his incredibly powerful personal vision.  (Perhaps no other director ever harnessed the visuals of cinema to achieve such complex intellectual statements.)  And I was pleased to find that Gasulla's montage included a few images from Fear and Desire, the early work that Kubrick eventually disowned, and which I've never seen . . . and which actually seems to predict many of his later tropes!  Enjoy.
